Robinsons Land registers 2 Ortigas buildings with PEZA
Robinsons Land Corp. was granted a certificate of registration by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) as a new economic zone developer for two of its buildings in Ortigas Center, the agency said Wednesday. The 23-storey Cyber Alpha is on a 2,500-square-meter lot between Sapphire and Garnet Roads, while the 36-storey Cyber Beta sits on a 1,955-square-meter lot between Topaz and Ruby Roads. In its statement, PEZA said that Robinsons Land will “establish, develop, administer, manage and operate” the information technology (IT) center. Last September, PEZA amended its policy on incentives in a bid to spur the development of IT parks outside Metro Manila and Cebu City. It removed the incentives for new IT centers to be built in the aforementioned urban centers, but kept incentives such as a special 5-percent tax on gross income for those to be built outside the National Capital Region and Cebu City. PEZA said that companies can still register to develop IT parks, but only the locators inside their buildings will get incentives. Robinsons Land, the property developer arm of JG Summit Holdings, Inc., reported a 3.12-percent gain in net income to P1.189 billion in the first quarter of the fiscal year ending September. — BM, GMA News
