Sitel, ClientLogic announce merger, Baguio expansion


Leading international business process outsourcing firms ClientLogic and Sitel on Thursday announced their merger and planned expansion in Baguio City, Philippines. The combined entity will bear the Sitel name and will have about 65,000 employees in 28 countries. The merger of the two companies resulted in a new company with a revenue of over $1.8 billion , offering services to more than 145 facilities throughout the globe. In the Philippines, the company will have 6,500 in total number of employees. Dan Reyes, the country manager for the combined entity, also said the company is set to add 1,650 seats in Baguio within the year. No other details were given. "It is more likely that the new company will be a blended product of the previous companies' talents, creating a cohesive and experienced workforce. This ensures that clients will not have a difficult time with the transition, and that as many of both companies' current workforce are maintained," Reyes said in a statement distributed to the media. In the statement, David Garner, the new company's president and CEO, said the combined company "is one of the largest providers of customer care and transaction processing services in the Business Process Outsourcing market."-Cheryl Arcibal, GMANews.TV
