UK firm Xpress Money ties up with Palawan Pawnshop
British money transfer firm Xpress Money has strengthened its presence in the Philippines, increasing its agents locations after forging a tie-up with Palawan Pawnshop, a press statement Wednesday showed.
With the partnership Xpress Money's 10,500 agent locations across the country through the 959 branches of Palawan Pawnshop – which has a stronghold in the Visayas and Mindanao region.
Palawan Pawnshop has branches in 42 provinces including Batangas, Palawan, Mindoro, Antique, Capiz, Masbate, Negros, Iloilo, Cebu, Leyte, Samar, Davao, Zamboanga, Misamis, Cagayan de Oro, and Iligan. It is which is extending its pawnshop business to bill payments and money transfer services
The partnership forms part of Xpress Money’s interest in expanding its network in the Philippines to service overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their beneficiaries.
“We are committed to helping the OFW community by providing reliable and affordable services, thus we are always on the lookout for opportunities to expand our network. With this partnership, we believe this will greatly benefit our customers by making transactions more convenient and accessible, especially in Visayas and Mindanao, where Palawan Pawnshop is strongest,” Xpress Money country manager Eduardo Cobangbang was quoted as saying in the statement.
For its part, Palawan Pawnshop president Karlo Castro said the firm is honored to tie up with a global remittance company.
“[W]e are looking forward to a long and successful relationship to provide fast and affordable money remittance transactions to our customers,” he was quoted as saying in the same statement.
