Medusa Mining to start explorations for Anoling project

Australian Securities Exchange listed Medusa Mining Ltd. has reported that it will begin explorations for its Anoling project in Agusan del Sur after receiving the necessary permits from the government. Medusa Mining operates and develops gold mines in various areas of the Philippines. In a filing with the ASX on Monday, the firm said it has received two small scale mining permits over prospective areas at its Anoling project. “The company will immediately begin exploration via exploration shafts and underground development of some of the abandoned mines and undertake exploratory diamond drilling," Medusa Mining managing director Geoff Davis said in the filing. The firm said it expects the typical grade of the gold mined in the area to be in the 8-12 grams/ton range. However, the company said an adjacent mine which operated in the 1980s produced ore with an approximate grade of 30 grams/ton.
