BCDA to auction prime property lease and development in Bonifacio South


The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is bidding out the Lawton Corporate
Center, a 5,000 sqm. property in Taguig City's Bonifacio South, starting this month.
 
“We are optimistic and expect this property to draw a lot of interest from top real estate developers because of its strategic location and proximity to various high-end commercial and residential areas like Bonifacio Global City, McKinley, Forbes Park, and Newport City, including the NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) III,” BCDA executive vice president Aileen Zosa said in an e-mailed statement Thursday.
 
BCDA business development manager Arrey Perez said the terms of reference and other bid documents are now being readied in time for the bidding to start this month. “We plan to officially start the public bidding process by the first or second week of May.”
 
Lawton Corporate Center is along Lawton Avenue, between the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority and McKinley West – a BCDA and Megaworld Corp. joint-venture development 
 
The BCDA intends to lease out Lawton Corporate Center for 25 years, renewable for another 25 years.
 
“Among the possible developments that could be done in the property are commercial or retail and offices or BPO (business process outsourcing),” Perez said.
 
Mandated in 1992 to transform former US military bases in the Philippines into alternative productive civilian use, state-run BCDA said it has since generated P60.21 billion from from its task and has  remitted P25.36 billion to the Bureau of the Treasury for supporting the Armed Forces of the Philippines. – VS, GMA News
