Century Pacific to sell New York's Vita Coco in PHL market
A popular coconut juice brand in the US will soon hit the Philippine market with Century Pacific Food Inc. as its exclusive distributor.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Friday, Century Pacific said it signed an agreement with New York-based Vita Coco to sell the brand – which debuted in the Big Apple in 2004 – to the Philippines.
“We believe in the appeal of healthy products for Philippine consumers. So, we’re proud to enter into a new stage of our relationship for this distribution agreement and bring the Vita Coco brand to the Philippines,” said Century Pacific president Christopher Po.
Since 2013, Vita Coco has been sourcing its coconut water from an affiliate company of Century Pacific in General Santos City. This year it will be launched in the Philippines.
“I am hopeful that the market here will understand the brand’s proposition and will embrace Vita Coco because if its quality and reputation, similar to how consumers around the world have come to patronize the Vita Coco brand,” Po added.
In the past four years, Vita Coco has been marketed in Europe, Japan and South Korea and is now sold in over 80,000 stores throughout the United States
