Pancake House changes name to Max's Group Inc.

Pancake House. Inc. will change its name to Max's Group Inc. after the Max's Group of Companies transferred all of its assets under the listed restaurant chain.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange Wednesday, Pancake House said its board approved in a special meeting a change in company name, with its ticker symbol on the PSE changed to "MAXS."

"The change of name reflects the consolidation of the entities comprising the Max's Group of Companies into the Company," the disclosure read.

The move is subject to approval of shareholders and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

On July 1, Max's Group consolidated all its 20 assets under Pancake House via a P4.054-billion share-swap deal to simplify the organizational structure of Max's, paving for the way to a backdoor listing on the PSE.

Last February, Max's completed the P3.49-billion acquisition of Pancake House, bringing together under one roof over 150 stores of Max's and more than 300 outlets of the various Pancake House brands. – Danessa O. Rivera/VS, GMA News
