KFC twits Jollibee with post on #ChickenSad trend

With the #ChickenSad hashtag trending on social media sites over the lack of menu items, including the popular Chicken Joy, at Jollibee stores, one of its top competitors couldn't resist taking a shot at the food chain.

On its official Facebook page, KFC Philippines posted a graphic offering their fried chicken as a balm for those who are #ChickenSad.

Since last week, people online have been complaining about the unavailability of some menu items at some Jollibee stores.

Jollibee on Thursday confirmed that the issue with menu was a result of systems upgrade the chain is currently undergoing.

"A number of Jollibee branches in Metro Manila and a few stores in surrounding cities are currently operating on a limited menu. This is a result of our ongoing major systems upgrade which we are undertaking to further improve our service delivery. Rest assured that this is only temporary," said Jollibee vice president for marketing Harvey Ong.

"We are committed to having all our products – including Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti and Yumburgers – available again in all our affected stores soonest. We would like to apologize for this inconvenience, and thank our customers for bearing with us." — JST, GMA News
