Ortigas & Company leases office space to Maersk Group's BPO operations

Ortigas & Company is leasing nearly half of its retail space in the former Rizal Provincial Capitol in Pasig City to the Philippine back office of Denmark-based Maersk Group.

 

In an e-mailed statement Tuesday, Ortigas & Company – through real estate services firm CB Richard Ellis – signed an agreement with Maersk Global Service Centers (Philippines) Ltd. for an 8,900-square meter knowledge process outsourcing space in Estancia at Capitol Commons in Pasig City. 

 

Maersk Global Service Centers will occupy the first four floors or close to half of Estancia's 19,000 square meters of knowledge process outsourcing space to be built within the development. 

 

Maersk Global Service Centers is the Manila-based shared service center of Denmark-based conglomerate Maersk Group, which has interests in the shipping, logistics, and oil and gas industries.

 

“We recognize the continuous need for space by the business and knowledge process outsourcing sector. CBRE, in fact, estimated that about 560,000-square meters of office space would be leased in 2014. That includes us,” SVP and general manager for real estate division Joey Santos said. 

 

“We continue to provide residential options and retail destinations to our consumers, but we are also cognizant of the fact that bolstering our office portfolio will contribute significantly to the company’s recurring income,” he added. – VS, GMA News
