Aquino appoints second cousin as Clark airport CEO


(Updated 8:07 p.m.) President Benigno Aquino III has appointed his second cousin, Emigdio Tanjuatco III, as president and chief executive officer of Clark International Airport Corporation.
 
Aquino approved Tanjuatco's nomination to the post late last month, according to the official's appointment papers signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. last August 27.
 
The newly appointed airport official will hold the post until June 30, 2015.
 
Tanjuatco is the son of Emilio Sumulong Tanjuatco Jr., first cousin of President Aquino's mother, the late President Corazon Aquino.

Other appointees

Aquino also appointed Alipio Fernandez, Jr. and Ramil Guiao as members of the Clark International Airport Corporation’s board of directors.

Victor Jose Luciano was meanwhile named a member of the Civil Aeronautics Board.

Three new officials were appointed to the Department of Health: Valeriano Lopez as Director IV, and Celia Carlos and Ruby Constantino as Acting Directors III.

Aquino also gave new government posts to the following officials:
- Lea Delfinado as Director III under the Department of Public Works and Highways;
- Danilo Enriquez as Director IV of the Bureau of Philippine Standards under the Department of Trade and Industry;
- Briccio Santos as chairperson of the Film Development Council of the Philippines;
- Gregorio Ramon Tingson as member representing the youth sector under the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council; and
