#FreeFBisBACK: Globe offers free unli Facebook, no strings attached
Post by Globe Telecom.
Not to be out trumped by its rival PLDT Group, Globe Telecom Inc. announced on Sunday that it will offer free unlimited Facebook use for its subscribers starting this week.
“Free Facebook is back! Starting next week, all Globe users can enjoy sharing, liking and posting on FB for FREE! Only from Globe, your network that gives you a wonderful experience with no strings attached!” reads a text message from Globe Telecom sent to its prepaid subscribers over the weekend.
“We will update you again through text on when you can start using Free Facebook. #FreeFBisBACK,” the text message further says.
On Friday, Smart Communications started offering free internet use of up to 30MB per day for the prepaid subscribers of Smart and its subsidiaries Talk N' Text and Sun Cellular.
The promo will run until November 30, 2014, Smart Communications Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan announced on Friday.
However, it was also revealed during the same announcement that once the subscriber reached the 30MB limit per day, subscribers will be given a pay wall or “safe zone” warning, in which, he or she will be given an option of continuing the experience by purchasing any of Smart's load options.
Charles Lim, PLDT executive, said subscribers will have to pay regular charges for data usage after exceeding the 30MB per day limit.
In a post on its Facebook page, Globe further trumpeted its promo by contrasting it to Smart's 30MB per day free internet use.
“FREE Facebook with no strings attached is Wonderful. Share, like, and chat on FB without counting MBs. Only from Globe,” reads a Facebook post from Globe on Saturday. – Elizabeth Marcelo/VS, GMA News
