PAL and ANA implement cooperation agreement
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) on Wednesday started the implementation of a cooperation agreement that will provide passengers the products and services of both carriers.
In an emailed statement, PAL said these include code share flights, loyalty programs, airport lounges, joint sales and marketing programs, and coordination of airport operations.
"By harmonizing our products, we get to offer our passengers wider and better travel options while boosting economic activity through trade and tourism," PAL president and CEO Jaime Bautista said.
A total of 81 flights weekly between the two countries will be offered, with the codes PR and NH codes to be placed on the said flights.
Passengers, through the agreement, can book flights from Manila to Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Fukuoka and Nagoya; from Cebu to Narita, Kansai and Nagoya; and from Manila to main domestic points in the Philippines; and vice versa.
ANA flights from Manila to Narita or Haneda and to other Japanese domestic destinations out of Narita, Haneda, Fukuoka and Nagoya, may be availed by passengers as well.
Under the agreement, patrons may enjoy the following benefits: check-through baggage; seamless transfer between PAL at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 and ANA's hub at NAIA Terminal 3.
Members of PAL's Mabuhay Miles and ANA Mileage Club may avail reciprocal loyalty program benefits including miles earned and redemption, priority check-in and boarding, baggage handling and lounge access across both networks
The flag carrier flies once a day to Nagoya and Kansai and 11 times weekly to Haneda.
It flies twice a day from Manila to Narita and Cebu to Narita.
PAL has announced last month it will launch in December four weekly flights between Cebu and Osaka and three weekly flights between Cebu and Nagoya. —Kathryn Mae P. Tubadeza/KG, GMA News
