Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc., the retail holding company of the Gokongwei group, on Friday said third quarter net income attributable to equity holders rose by 45.2 percent to P978 million from P673 million a year earlier.

Net sales for the period improved by 21.1 percent to P19.2 billion from P15.86 billion, the firm said in a statement attached to a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange.

For the nine-month period, Robinsons Retail booked a 33.3 percent jump in net income attributable to equity holders to P2.3 billion from P1.8 billion on the back of increased income from operations and higher interest income.

Net sales for the period increased by 19.1 percent to P56.179 billion from P47.176 billion due to higher sales contribution of 276 new stores.

"I am very encouraged with the sustained strong same store sales growth performance of most our retail performance," Robinsons Retail president and COO Robina Gokongwei-Pe said in a statement.

"We will continue to find ways to offer new shopping experience to our customers," he noted.
