Globe says iPhone offers to boost postpaid revenues
Globe Telecom Inc. expects its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus offers to boost postpaid revenues towards the end of the year.
The postpaid business is likely to "end the year on a high note with sustainable growth in revenues and customer base, on the heels of... innovative offers for the newest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus," Globe senior vice president for consumer mobile marketing Issa Cabreira said in an emailed statement on Tuesday.
The Ayala-led telco posted P22 billion in postpaid revenues in the first nine months of the year, up 11 percent from P20 billion a year earlier.
The company said 38 percent of total mobile revenues came from the postpaid subscriptions.
It booked P57.6 billion in postpaid revenues as of end-September, up 6 percent from P54.1 billion in the same comparable period.
The telco registered a postpaid base of 2.2 million in January to September, up 9 percent from 2 million.
Globe claimed its "fully-customizable" postpaid plans helped gross additions to reach 614,905 in the nine months, up 15 percent from 534,615. – Kathryn Mae P. Tubadeza/VS, GMA News
