DOTC to open bids for ITS-Southwest Terminal PPP on Tuesday
The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) will open on Tuesday the financial proposals for the Integrated Transport System (ITS)-Southwest Terminal project.
The department on Monday said the financial proposals of the qualified bidders, whose technical proposals for the ITS-Southwest Terminal project are compliant, will be opened at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the DOTC office in Mandaluyong City.
"We would know (tomorrow) the better bid subject to post qualification or evaluation," DOTC chief Joseph Emilio Abaya told GMA News Online.
Abaya said the technical proposals of Filinvest Land Inc. and MWM Terminals – a consortium of Megawide Construction Corp. and WM Property Management Inc. – have both "both qualified."
DOTC opened the technical proposals last Thursday.
Under the P2.5 billion public-private partnership (PPP) project, passenger terminal buildings, arrival and departure bays, public information systems, ticketing and baggage handling facilities, and park-and-ride facilities will be constructed in a 2.9-hectare property within the Coastal Road Terminal along the Manila-Cavite Expressway.
According to the PPP Center website, it will connect passengers coming from Cavite to other transport systems such as the future LRT Line 1 South Extension, city bus, taxi, and other public utility vehicles serving inner Metro Manila.
Another central transport terminal project of DOTC is the ITS South Terminal project which will be constructed in the FTI compound in Bicutan.
It is designed to connect passengers from Laguna and Batangas to other urban transport systems such as the Philippine National Railways and public utility vehicles in inner Metro Manila.
Qualified bidders for the ITS South Terminal project will submit bids next April. – Kathryn Mae P. Tubadeza/VS, GMA News
