AirAsia sells over 3 million seats for P1 base price
(Updated 8:51 p.m.) AirAsia is offering more than three million seats on its domestic and international flights to over 20 countries at a base fare of P1.
"With base fare starting from P1.00 and the abolishment of the fuel surcharge, guests only need to pay for airport taxes and fees when booking for this promotion to great domestic and international destinations... such as Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Macau, Incheon (Seoul), Manila, Puerto Princesa (Palawan), Kalibo (Boracay), Tagbilaran (Bohol), Tacloban, Cebu and Davao," the low-cost carrier said in a statement Monday.
The base-price seats are for the travel from September 1, 2015 to May 31, 2016, according to the airline.
The low fares are also available for flights from Cebu to Incheon (Seoul), Kota Kinabalu, Davao and Cagayan de Oro and flights from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Bangkok, Bali, Hong Kong, Kalibo (Boracay), Melbourne, Seoul, Sapporo (transit via Bangkok), and Taiwan, it said.
AirAsia said one-way tickets for as low as P201.12 all-in may also be booked through the airline's website and its mobile app from March 23 to March 29.
AirAsia was in the news recently when Flight QZ8501 of AirAsia Indonesia crashed less than halfway into a two-hour flight from Surabaya to Singapore on Dec. 28, 2014, according to a report from Reuters.
All 162 people on board the Airbus A320 were killed, the wire agency reported.
