Ayala merges bank, telco, property developer operations under one roof in UAE

Ayala Corporation on Friday revealed it will nest three leading companies under one entity, mainly targeting Filipinos in the United Arab Emirates.

Bank of the Philippine Islands, Globe Telecom Inc. and Ayala Land Corporation will be under a single umbrella called One Ayala to give Filipinos in the region better access to products and services.
This is a major move for Ayala in the UAE since it extended its operations to the Emirates in 2013 when it established an Ayala Land office in Burjuman Business Tower in Dubai.

"With One Ayala, we hope to offer a wider array to match their needs as well as the needs of their families through a central point of communication and access for our customers in this part of the world," said BPI Senior Vice President for Remittance Business Roy Emil Yu.

Under One Ayala, the property developer will showcase the Avida and Amaia brands that offer land and houses, condominiums, offices, and mixed-use integrated developments.

On the other hand, Globe Telecom partnered with du, a telecommunications company in the Middle East to launch co-branded service. Through its Kabayan offer du let's prepaid mobile subscribers call Globe and TM for 20 percent less than the cost of calls to other networks in the Philippines.

Through this partnership, a call to Globe and TM numbers will cost 36 fils or P4.35 per minute. The regular rate is 45 fils or P5.45 per minute for calls to other Philippine networks. du prepaid subscribers need to dial *135*71# to activate the service. A set-up fee of AED1 or P12 applies to each call.

Under One Ayala, BPI is offering remittance solutions to Filipinos in the UAE.
