PAL hiring more flight attendants as airline expands route network

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is on a hiring binge for more flight attendants on the heels of an expansion in local and international routes.

In a statement, PAL said it will hold a two-day job expo at the PNB Financial Center in Pasay City next month. The expo will run from June 5 to 6, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

On May 20, PAL announced that it will launch flights to Cairns, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand by December this year. It will operate flights weekly to serve the Manila-Cairns-Auckland route.

PAL also recently opened flights to New York, USA and Guangzhou, China.

Several intra-domestic routes linking Cebu and Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Butuan, Tacloban, Iloilo and Bacolod were also recently launched as well as flights linking Iloilo and General Santos, and Zamboanga and Davao.

Earlier this month, PAL reported to have sustained its financial turnaround after posting a record net comprehensive income of $85 million for the first quarter of 2015.

The profit was credited to the expansion in its domestic network and the launch of new international destinations.

PAL spokesperson Ma. Cielo Villaluna told GMA News Online in a text message the airline is eyeing to hire more than a 100 flight attendants.
