TechnoPark in Capiz now a PEZA Special Economic Zone

The Pueblo de Panay (PdP) TechnoPark in Roxas City, Capiz has been declared a Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Special Economic Zone (ECOZONE).

"This important declaration brings us closer to our goal of creating a bustling IT-BPM industry in Northern Panay, which could boost economic activity and generate a significant amount of job opportunities in the region," said PdP TechnoPark Project Head and PdP Chief Operating Officer Victoria Hariette Ong-Banzon.

The seven-hectare lot inside the Pueblo de Panay township became a PEZA ECOZONE under Proclamation No. 1034, the first Information Technology-Business Process Management Park in Northern Panay, Western Visayas.

Banzon said the declaration also benefits the neighboring provinces of Antique, Aklan, Northern Iloilo, Masbate, Mindoro and Romblon.

Republic Act No. 7916 or the "Special Economic Zone Act of 1995" grants certain privileges – special tax incentives and holidays – to business owners and investors operating inside an ECOZONE.
