Special Ad Feature: Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar to host APEC meeting

In supporting sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region, the Philippines hosts this year’s Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.

It was in 1996, close to two decades already since the Philippines last hosted this major international economic event. It is, hence, a rare honor and a privileged opportunity for Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar Heritage Resort, the municipality of Bagac, and the Province of Bataan under the leadership of Governor Albert Garcia and Mayor Rommel del Rosario to be chosen as one of the venues for the series of conferences and workshops.  From June 9 to 10, the senior economic ministers/officials shall be having a Workshop on Fiscal Management through Transparency and Reforms.

The foreign delegates shall be the first to be ushered in the newly built reproduction of the Hotel de Oriente convention center. The building was modeled after the first grand and world-class hotel, the 1889-built, Hotel de Oriente, a forerunner to the Manila Hotel. The national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal was a frequent guest, as were the American, Spanish and local social luminaries of those times.

Dr. Jose Rizalino Acuzar, the owner and developer of Las Casas has passionately devoted his time, talent, and resources in keeping alive heritage architecture, by preserving century-old houses, and rebuilding beautiful, historic buildings such as the Hotel de Oriente.Hundreds of townsfolk of Bagac, Bataan have gained artistic and building skills, true to how these structures and artworks were originally made; aside from enjoying gainful employment in this tourist haven.

Mr. Acuzar and his New San Jose Builders, Inc. are also known for helping build the world’s largest arena, the Philippine Arena, and in building thousands of homes for our countrymen.

“Building inclusive economies, building a better world”--- such is this year’s summit’s aspirations, as shared by the APEC’s 21-member economies: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Republic of the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam.
