Cebu Pacific flights canceled, delayed by system upgrade


Passengers of budget carrier Cebu Pacific may find their flights on Friday and Saturday delayed after the airline upgraded to a new operations system.
 
The airline expects consequential flight delays and cancellations today and tomorrow, noting that it is working on normalizing operations as soon as possible.
 
“We encountered issues in the course of the upgrade, which is preventing us from dispatching flights on time,” the airline said. Cebu Pacific upgraded the new system on Thursday.
 
The following Cebu Pacific flights on Friday have been canceled:
 
  • 5J 481/482           Manila – Bacolod – Manila

  • 5J 579/582           Manila – Cebu – Manila

  • 5J 971/970           Manila – Davao – Manila

  • 5J 114/115           Manila – Hong Kong – Manila

  • 5J455/456            Manila – Iloilo – Manila

  • 5J 461/462           Manila – Iloilo – Manila

  • 5J 399/400           Manila – Kalibo – Manila

  • 5J647/648            Manila – Puerto Princesa – Manila

  • 5J375/376            Manila – Roxas – Manila
 
Cebu Pacific will arrange for a re-accommodation of affected passengers as soon as flights are available.
 
“We will provide for the requirements of the affected passengers, including meals, refreshment, and accommodation on other airlines,” the airline said.
 
Passengers who will not be able to take the flights may opt to rebook their flights within 30 days from the original departure date or take a full refund or travel fund.
