Aboitiz unit to build hydroelectric power plant in Isabela

A subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corp. will construct an 8.5-megawatt hydroelectric power plant in Isabela.

SN Aboitiz Power-Magat Inc. has signed a memorandum of agreement with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) for the construction of the plant along the Maris Main (South) Canal, according to a disclosure with the Philippine Stock Exchange on Thursday.

The proposed plant will use irrigation water from the Maris Reservoir for the Maris Main (South) Canal that NIA operates and manages. The project is scheduled to commence within the last quarter of the year and be completed by November 2017.
