BDO to support Japanese businessmen planning to invest in PHL

Japanese clients of financial institution FIDEA Holdings Co, Ltd. (FIDEA Group) planning to invest in the Philippines will now be given support by BDO Unibank Inc., the company announced on Wednesday.

BDO told the Philippine Stock Exchange it has inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with FIDEA to provide financial and non-financial advisory services and other products and services  to FIDEA's clients in Japan's northern region Tohoku.

It will also provide the Japanese clients services "that would be helpful to them should they decide to set up shop in the Philippines."

The partnership will cover the areas of Akita, Yamagata, and Miyagi where majority of the primary industries such as agriculture, fishing, forestry, and mining are located.

BDO said it has already employed a fully staffed Japan Desk with Japanese-speaking personnel dedicated to market and service Japanese companies operating in the Philippines. —Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/KG, GMA News
