36 Cebu Pacific and Cebgo flights canceled


The notice to airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Monday will affect 36 flights of Cebu Pacific and its unit Cebgo on Tuesday and Saturday.

The budget airline said in a separate statement Monday it has decided to cancel the flights that will be affected by the NOTAM.

CAAP's NOTAM B0330/16 was issued "... due to special operations on the arrival of his Majesty Japan Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko on their visits to the Philippines from January 26 to 30, 2016," the industry regulator said.

Cebu Pacific said "... the NOTAM indicates a temporary runway closure at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on January 26 and 30, 2016, due to VIP movement."

In line with the advisory, the following Cebu Pacific and Cebgo flights have been canceled:

Rebook their flights for travel within 30 days from original departure date; or Opt for full refund or travel fund.

The NAIA runways 06/24 and 13/31 will be closed to commercial operations from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, for the royal family's arrival and from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 30, for their departure to Japan.

The royal family are flying on flight JF001 on board a Boeing B747-400 of the Japan Air Force and will be accompanied by their entourage on board flight JF002 with the same aircraft type, CAAP said. – VS, GMA News
