Globe launches no lock-up postpaid plan
Globe Telecom Inc. on Tuesday said it has started a postpaid plan minus the 24-month lock-up period that limits subscribers to the mobile device tied to the subscription.
“With the new Globe myLifestyle No Lock-Up Plan, we are changing the way customers apply for and enjoy our postpaid services,” Globe Senior Vice President for Consumer Mobile Marketing Issa Cabreira said in a statement on Tuesday.
“It’s a plan that puts a premium on your lifestyle with the addition of free texts to all networks and a bigger mobile data allocation, making our customer’s digital experience richer,” Cabreira said.
Plan 1499 under a regular myLifestyle postpaid plan comes with 5GB of data. However, under the myLifestyle No Lock-Up plans, Plan 1499 has an upgraded 10GB of data, the company said.
Subscribers will also have access to "unlimited calls and texts to Globe/TM, unlimited texts to all networks, and free access to Facebook for 24 months" starting at Plan 599.
Depending on their plan, customers may get three months of free Spotify or HOOQ and may opt for extra consumables or calls and texts abroad along with their nano, micro, or standard SIM of choice.
Globe postpaid subscribers totaled 2.4 million as of end-2015.
It ended 2015 with consolidated service revenues at P85.1 billion, up 9 percent P78.1 billion a year earlier. – Rie Takumi/Kiersnerr Gerwin Tacadena/VDS, GMA News
