WeiKang Xu may still be in the country – Guingona
Records of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) revealed that high roller WeiKang Xu may still be in the country, Senator Teofisto Guingona III, chair of the Senate blue ribbon committee said on Tuesday.
"It appears that Xu is still in the Philippines," Guingona said during the hearing on the money laundering involving $81 million of Bangladesh Bank funds.
Citing BI records, Guingona said WeiKang Xu first arrived in Philippines last year.
"Bureau of Immigration records show that WeiKang Xu is a PROC (People's Republic of China) national," Guingona said.
Xu supposedly arrived on March 18, 2015 at Terminal 1 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), and left the Philippines on March 24, 2015.
He then returned on April 1, 2015. "The Bureau of Immigration granted him a temporary visitor visa," Guingona said.
However, the Department of Foreign Affairs claimed its consulate in China has not given any visa to a certain WeiKang Xu. – VDS, GMA News
