BPI to clients: Avoid Julia Vargas branch for Trillanes-Duterte face-off
The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) issued an advisory to its clients to avoid transactions at its Julia Vargas Branch on Monday where Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV and the camp of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte will face off, a report on News To Go on Monday said.
BPI advised its clients to instead conduct transactions at its other branches in Ortigas such as the Pasig-Ortigas Branch at the ground floor of the Benpres Building, Ortigas Emerald Branch at Ortigas Avenue, Ortigas Sapphire Branch on Sapphire Road, and the Ortigas Tektite Branch at the Philippine Stock Exchange Center.
BPI said all transactions will incur no additional fees due to its "bank anywhere" facility.
Security has been tightened at the Julia Vargas Branch, radio dzBB said.
Reports showed actor Robin Padilla, a staunch Duterte supporter, is also at the venue.

Duterte admitted on Thursday the BPI account does exist but only contains around P17,000 contrary to Trillanes' allegations of P211 million. —Joseph Tristan Roxas/KG, GMA News
