Smart partners with Youtube, Twitter, MCA Music in digital shift
Smart Communications Inc. has revealed new partnerships in line with the shift towards a purely digital way of doing business.
Smart and video streaming website Youtube are establishing upload centers across the country through Smart Launchpad.
It intends to use microblogging website Twitter, as the main customer service touch point through the handle @SMARTCares.
“Today I believe we have a better 3G than Globe,” Smart Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan said late Wednesday in Taguig City, taking a swipe at rival Globe Telecom Inc.

“Smart has built a legacy of bringing mobile innovations into the life of all Filipinos, and with the digital wave upon us, we have come up with innovative products and services to bring the real-life benefits of connectivity to as many Filipinos as possible,” Pangilinan claimed in a separate statement.
Smart also partnered with MCA Music to kick off its Smart Music Live! service, where subscribers may watch various artists for free. Among the artists onboard are Selena Gomez, Third Eye Blind, Panic! At the Disco, James Bay, Elle King, and Twin Pines.
“Our goal is to make sure no one gets left behind by this digital shift,” said Katrina Luna-Abelarde, Smart Wireless Consumer Operations head.
Last month, Smart and parent PLDT Inc. unveiled new logos to coincide with the shift towards digital.
“Rather than allow ourselves to be disrupted by new technologies, we are disrupting ourselves. We have embarked on a digital pivot to enable us to serve the increasing needs of our people’s digital lifestyle and the country’s growing digital economy,” Pangilinan said. — VDS, GMA News
