San Miguel still most desired employer –JobStreet
Listed food and beverage firm San Miguel Corp. (SMC) remained unbeaten as the most desired employer among Filipino jobseekers in 2016, the Top Companies Report released by career resource site JobStreet.com said Wednesday.
"For three years in a row, SMC and Nestlé have occupied the top two spots of preferred employers. Accenture, on the other hand, moved up from fifth in 2014 to third in 2015 and 2016," JobStreet said in a statement.
SMC has remained the top chosen employer since the report was started in 2014.
The Top 5 most desired employers according to JobStreet are as follows:
JobStreet said the rankings were based on a series of surveys from May to July 2016, with 14,062 participants coming from different position levels — mostly fresh graduates and junior executives — over a diverse mix of specializations.
"The report is part of JobStreet.com's thrust to provide stakeholders in the labor market innovative services for companies not only to find talents but build employee value preposition, and in the process, attract the best talents in the job market," it said.
JobStreet added that two companies made their debut in the 2016 list — Ayala Land Inc., and Google Philippines.
"It should be noted the companies that made it to the roster are also some of the most profitable firms in the country," it added.
According to JobStreet, salary was the "most significant" factor in employer preference this year.
"In the 2015 report, benefits, and incentives such as extended health insurance, performance-based bonuses, retirement pay, car and housing loans were among the top answers," it said.
Meanwhile, junior executives and employees in the supervisory level aspire for career-enhancing training and development opportunities, opportunities for career growth, and company reputation.
The report also revealed that most jobseekers research and learn about their desired companies through the internet — social media and online news portals, and company websites — as well as word of mouth.
"JobStreet.com knows that employer branding has become more critical than ever in the war for talent," said JobStreet Country Manager Philip Gioca. —KBK, GMA News
