PAL cancels 10 domestic flights on Saturday due to 'Karen'
Philippine Airlines (PAL) has canceled 10 domestic flights scheduled on Saturday due to bad weather, with Tropical Storm Karen expected to intensify into a typhoon this weekend.
In an advisory on Friday, the flag carrier it canceled the following flights due to the impact of the typhoon on the Bicol Region, Samar, and Masbate:
- PR 2925 - Manila to Legaspi
- PR 2926 - Legaspi to Manila
- PR 2265 - Manila to Naga
- PR 2266 - Naga to Manila
- PR 2261 - Manila to Naga
- PR 2262 - Naga to Manila
- PR 2071 - Manila to Calbayog
- PR 2072 - Calbayog to Manila
- PR 2079 - Manila to Catarman
- PR 2080 - Catarman to Manila
"Affected passengers may rebook without penalty within 30 days from original flight date or within ticket validity period," the airline said.
In press conference, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council warned that Central Luzon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes are expected to bear the worst effects of the typhoon.
The National Capital Region and the rest of Luzon is expected to experience heavy rains over the weekend until Karen leaves the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) early next week. — Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
