Cebu Pacific HK-Manila flight delayed for 3 hours

A Cebu Pacific flight bound for Manila from Hong Kong has been delayed for almost three hours due to a technical problem.

The budget carrier's flight 5J111 was scheduled to arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at 9:55 p.m. on Friday but actually arrived at 12:45 a.m. on Saturday.

"The flight was delayed earlier due to a technical problem on the assigned aircraft, which underwent a thorough maintenance inspection," Cebu Pacific said in a statement.

Flight information also showed that the aircraft was scheduled to depart Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 1 at 7:40 p.m. but left at 10:31 p.m.

To compensate for the delay, Cebu Pacific said passengers were provided with meals and a one-way travel voucher.

"We sincerely regret any inconvenience this incident may have caused. We hope for everyone’s understanding as safety remains our top priority," the carrier said. —ALG, GMA News
