PDIC starts paying depositors of Eastern Rizal Rural Bank

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) on Monday said it has started to service the insurance claims of depositors of the now-defunct Eastern Rizal (Jalajala) Rural Bank Inc. and will continue to do so until December 22, 2016.

PDIC, in an emailed statement, said it will service claims from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on December 19 to 22, 2016.

"In view of the holiday season, PDIC will service all depositors with validated deposits, regardless of amount and type of account, provided they file deposit insurance claims," it said, assuring that all valid claims will be paid.

Servicing the claims of the head office depositors will be done in the bank's office at C. Villaran St., Jalajala, Rizal.

Depositors of the Cainta Branch and Marikina Branch will be serviced at the bank's Cainta branch along E. Rodriguez Ave. in Cainta, Rizal.

For queries and concerns, depositors may contact the Public Assistance Department at telephone numbers (02) 841-4630 to 31, or by email at pad@pdic.gov.ph.

Depositors outside Metro Manila may also call the PDIC Toll Free Hotline at 1-800-1-888-PDIC (7342). — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/VS, GMA News
