LTFRB orders 2 app-based ride hailing services to cease operations

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has ordered two app-based ride hailing service to stop its operations as they are not accredited by the agency.

In a separate statements, LTFRB informed the public that Angkas and Wunder Carpool, which were considered as Transport Network Company (TNC) like Grab and Uber, have not coordinated with the board, thus, cannot operate.

LTFRB Board Member Aileen Lizada said in a text message that Angkas and Wunder Carpool are not accredited TNCs.

"LTFRB strongly warns Angkas to stop all bookings made with the use of this kind of application or platform," the board noted.

LTFRB also ordered Wunder Carpool to do the same.

The board said, otherwise, it will be constrained to take legal actions against the two TNCs and its illegitimate operators.

CitiMuber Passenger, also a TNC, was earlier ordered to cease operations as it "had not coordinated with LTFRB," therefore, not accredited to book passengers. —John Ted Cordero/KBK, GMA News
