Zalora to expand brand portfolio in partnership with Robinson’s

Zalora Philippines is set to acquire at least four more brands as part of its portfolio in partnership with Robinson’s Specialty Stores Inc.

“On April 1st we’ll be launching the specialty brands by Robinson’s Specialty Stores,” Paulo Campos, Zalora Philippines co-founder and CEO, told reporters in a briefing in Taguig City.

The Arcadia brands Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins and Burton Menswear will be available online, after Zalora’s local owner and operator BF Jade E-Service Philippines was partly acquired by listed conglomerate Ayala Corp. last week.

“This acquisition is part of Ayala’s strategy to invest in new disruptive businesses that provide innovative solutions to evolving markets. The group recognizes that e-commerce is a unique growth channel that complements existing businesses, drawing on synergies with the rest of the Ayala group,” AC said in a filing with the stock exchange.

Campos noted the partnership paves the way for Zalora to acquire and sell more brands on its e-commerce platform. — VDS, GMA News
