Cebu Pacific adds two new routes in VisMin

Cebu Pacific on Wednesday said two routes were added to its flight network in the Visayas and Northern Mindanao.

Starting Wednesday, March 15, flights between Cagayan de Oro and Tagbilaran will happen four times a week – Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Flights between Cagayan de Oro and Bacolod are three times a week every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

"We believe that these new routes will not only boost tourism, but also increase trade and productivity between the Visayas and Mindanao. Movement of goods between these islands will also be facilitated as CEB cargo services are also available in these new routes," Alexander Lao, president and CEO of Cebgo said in a statement.

Cebgo is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cebu Pacific.

As there is no need to pass through Manila or Cebu anymore, the new direct flights will increase the number of travelers, according to Cebu Pacific, noting the additional flights are the best routes from Bacolod and Tagbilaran to Northern Mindanao.

"CEB is likewise optimistic that our newest routes will encourage a number of tourists and businessmen from Tagbilaran and Bacolod to visit Mindanao more often with direct flights," Lao said.

Cebu Pacific operates via its own hubs in Manila, Cebu, Davao, Clark, Kalibo and Iloilo. Its network covers 66 destinations and over 100 routes in Asia, Australia, Middle East and the United States. — Marlly Rome Bondoc/VDS, GMA News
