Most banks closed on June 26 for Eid’l Fitr


Most banks will be closed on June 26, Monday, in observance of Eid'l Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.

Bank of the Philippine Islands announced that all its branches will be closed on the said non-working holiday.

UCPB, likewise, said all its branches will be closed in observance of the Islamic holiday.

All China Bank branches are also closed on the said holiday.

BDO Unibank Inc. said several selecte branches will be open on June 26.

Metrobank, meanwhile, said only its branch at the NAIA Terminal 3 will be open on Monday on shortened banking hours.

Select branches of Philippine National Bank will also be open on June 26 with shorter hours.

Security Bank's branches in the NAIA Terminals 1 and 3 will be open for regular banking hours on Monday.

Malacañang, last week, declared June 26 as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Fitr upon the recommendation of by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos and “in order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness." — John Ted Cordero/MDM, GMA News
