Bookings via online travel agents may not reflect on Cebu Pacific system

Budget carrier Cebu Pacific on Wednesday warned the public against booking flights through Online Travel Agents (OTAs) such as Skiddoo and Traveloka.

"Any flight bookings or reservations made by or through them might not be reflected in Cebu Pacific's booking reservation system," the airline said in an advisory.

OTAs have no authority and no permission to transact on behalf of Cebu Pacific, the airline added.

"Moreover, requests for ancillary services such as meals, seat selection and baggage allowance might not also be reflected in the Cebu Pacific booking system since these OTAs are not synced to that of the airline," it added.

Cebu Pacific said that since these unauthorized OTAs are not linked to the Cebu Pacific booking system, the airline does not have the contact details—which are important for the airline to relay information in case there are flight changes.

"We urge the travelling public to double-check bookings made with OTAs to avoid any inconvenience," it said.

The airline advised customers to book through its website, mobile app, or through its hotline numbers.

"The travelling public may also transact with legitimate sales agents to book flights and ancillary services with Cebu Pacific," it added. — Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
