The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) released a Notice to Airmen saying a Tacloban-Manila flight was delayed and a Manila-Tacloban flight was diverted to Cebu, after an aircraft suddenly stopped in the runway.
At around 7 a.m., a newly-landed AirAsia plane on its way to the terminal experienced a problem with the steering wheel, prompting the pilot to stop the plane while on the runway, said CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio.
All passengers were reportedly safe.
The notice was effective from before 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. if the plane could be towed immediately.
