Smart, Talk 'N Text subscribers hit 28.5M

The combined number of subscribers of mobile networks Smart Communications and Pilipino Telephone Corp. has reached 28.5 million as of Oct. 1, a top official of Smart said Thursday. "It is possible to hit 30 million subscribers by the end of the year. We're doing aggressive promo effort," Danilo Mojica, head of Smart's wireless consumer division told reporters. Both Smart and Piltel are units of telecom giant Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co.
