Business expansion, optimization to drive PHL recruitment, says headhunter
Business expansion and structural optimization are expected to ramp-up
recruitment next year, according to the latest Global Salary Survey of headhunter Robert Walters.
"Continued business expansions and increased optimization of organizational structure will be key drivers for recruitment in 2018," Robert Walters Philippines country manager Eric Mary said in a round table discussion in Makati City on Tuesday.
"Companies looking to optimize their structures will make room for new roles, while new and expanding businesses will make a positive contribution to the recruitment market," Mary said.
Positive economic growth led to strong hiring activity in the country this year, according to the specialist professional recruitment company.
There is a strong demand for talents in human resources, accounting and finance, information technology, and banking and financial services among multinational companies and growing local businesses, the headhunter noted.
E-commerce and companies undertaking digitalization will drive demand for information technology talents, Mary noted.
Hiring activities are expected to rise in Cebu, Davao, Laguna, and Pampanga as commercials centers decentralize.
Mary noted salaries will continue to grow by 20 to 40 percent next year, but more companies will look at controlling costs as businesses grow. — VDS, GMA News
