MAP names Maynilad's Mon Fernandez as new president
The Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) on Tuesday named Ramoncito Fernandez as its new president starting next year.
Fernandez, the president and CEO of Maynilad Water Services, will succeed Marife Zamora—chairperson of Convergys Philippines Services Corp.
He is the 69th president of MAP since its inception in 1950.
According to MAP, Fernandez will lead the business group next year together with board members Dr. Donald Lim, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) Philippines, as vice president; Rizalina Mantaring, CEO and country head of Sun Life Financial Philippines, as treasurer; Cesar Romero, country chairman of Shell Companies in the Philippines, as assistant treasurer; and Maria Carolina Dominguez, president and CEO of John Clements Consultants Inc. as secretary.
The other board members are Rene Almendras, president and CEO of AC Infrastructure Holdings Corp.; Romeo Bernardo, managing director of Lazaro Bernardo Tiu & Associates; Alfredo Pascual, special adviser of the University of the Philippines; and Peter Wallace, chair of Wallace Business Forum.
Fernandez is also a director of Metro Pacific Investments Corp., Metropac Water Investments Corp., and PLDT subsidiaries Pacific Global One Aviation Co., Tahanan Mutual Building and Loan Association, and First Pacific Leadership Academy.
He served as president and CEO of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., Tollways Management Corp., and MPCALA Holdings.
Fernandez joined the First Pacific Group in 1994, first under the packaging business and later under the telecoms group. — Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
