ATTITUDE
What employers are now looking for in fresh grads —JobStreet report

As the top qualification for hiring fresh graduates, Philippine employers are now looking at the attitude of job seekers, a report released by JobStreet Philippines on Wednesday showed.
“Attitude and new age skills have overtaken experience as the top consideration for employers in hiring fresh graduates,” Philip Gioca, JobStreet Philippines country manager, said in a briefing in Makati City.
Attitude and work ethic are now the most significant considerations in hiring fresh graduates, according to the report.
Communication skills and analytical thinking are the second tier of qualifications that will land fresh graduates a good job.

Demanding
“Our hirers are becoming demanding. Kahit na fresh grad ka, they’re still looking for leadership qualities ... Nagiging customer-related na rin ang businesses ngayon,” Gioca noted.
Aside from communication skills, Gioca said companies are also looking at experience like on-the-job training or internship, part-time work, and extra-curricular activities.
Companies are also looking for willingness to learn, personal grooming, and willingness to work as part of a team, Jobstreet said. —VDS, GMA News
