30 firms vying for Clark airport maintenance deal —BCDA


The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the Department of Transportation began the selection process for the operations and maintenance  contractor of Clark International Airport in Pampanga.

According to the state-owned BCDA, 30 prospective bidders attended the pre-bid conference in Taguig City on Monday.

The companies that procured bid documents include Megawide-GMR Consortium, Metro Pacific Investment Corporation (MPIC), Filinvest Development Corporation, San Miguel Holdings Corporation (SMC), Prime Assets Venture (PAV), Central Luzon Infrastructure Consultancy Inc. Consortium (CLIC), GVK Airport Developers Ltd., and Groupe ADP.

Other bidders include Zurich Airport, Sojitz Philippines Corp., Deloitte, VCorp Holdings, Udenna Corporation, Malaysia Airports, GMR, Ayesa Engineering, Clarkfield Aviation Services, Mitsubishi Corporation, Macquarie, JG Summit Holdings Inc., Halder and Associates, PAL Express, Samsung, Aboitiz Infra Capital, PSI Air, Air Asia, Evercon Builders, Miescor Logistics Incorporated, Century Properties, and AviAlliance.

The BCDA plans to hold one-on-one meetings with prospective bidders from May 21 to 23.

They are scheduled to submit their bids on Thursday, after which a post-qualification conference will happen on August 7.

BCDA president and CEO Vivencio Dizon said the contract is expected to be awarded to a “word-class" international airport operator by August 30.

During the conference on Monday, BCDA Assistant Vice President for Business Development Arrey Perez discussed the scope of the O&M, the O&M of the airport’s existing passenger terminal and the new terminal building after completion and successful commissioning, legal qualification criteria, and technical qualification criteria for prospective bidders.

The airport, through which 332 domestic flights and 158 international flights are processed each week, is envisioned by the Duterte administration to be the country’s next major gateway. —Margaret Claire Layug/VDS, GMA News
