PAL launches Manila-Sapporo flights with round-trip promo fares
Philippine Airlines (PAL) has launched direct commercial flights between Manila and Sapporo in northern Japan starting September.
The flag carrier plans to tap the growing demand of travelers to Sapporo, the capital of the northernmost Japanese island of Hokkaido.
“We will start flying to the New Chitose Airport on September 10,” PAL President and COO Jaime Bautista told reporters in a press conference in Manila City.
PAL will hold a one-day seat-sale for Manila-Sapporo flights on Friday, July 6, with round trip economy seats priced at $399.
The six-hour non-stop PAL service will operate three times a week —Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—using the Airbus A321neo.
The Airbus A321neo has 168 seats—12 business class, and 156 economy class—each having a personal TV screen and Wi-Fi access.
Sapporo is the sixth Japanese destination served by PAL after Fukuoka, Nagoya (Chubu), Osaka (Kansai), and Tokyo (Narita and Haneda).
“It will result in more passengers going to Japan. We’re expecting more than 500,000 next year,” Bautista said. —VDS, GMA News
