Gasoline, diesel, kerosene prices up Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019
Motorists will be greeted by higher pump prices of petroleum products this week, with another price hike set on Tuesday.
In separate advisories, Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., and SEAOIL Philippines Inc. announced the prices per liter of gasoline are going up by P0.80, diesel by P0.70, and kerosene by P0.40.
The changes will take effect 6 a.m. Tuesday, January 8.
“This is not yet due to the TRAIN Law, but only to reflect oil prices movements in the world market,” said Shell.
Eastern Petroleum Corp., Petro Gazz, and Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc. will implement similar changes, but not for kerosene—a product they don’t carry.
Other oil companies have yet to announce similar adjustments for the week.
Data from the Department of Energy (DOE) showed gasoline prices in the country currently range from P39.25 to P53.60 per liter, diesel from P33.45 to P40.98 per liter, and kerosene from P38.42 to P48.50 per liter. — RSJ/VDS, GMA News
