PAL to launch three new Asian routes

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Tuesday said it is launching new routes from Manila to three destinations in Asia this 2019.

The new routes will be launched starting in March, said PAL president and COO Jaime Bautista told reporters during a press conference in Manila. “We are launching three new routes for the first half of 2019.”

Starting March 31, PAL is launching four weekly flights from Manila to Hanoi in Vietnam.

By April 1, PAL is slated to start flying five times weekly from Manila to Phnom Penh in Cambodia.

Pending regulatory approval, the airline intends to fly from Manila to New Delhi in India by the second week of April.

“India is the air travel growth market of the future and a new economic power. So our link to Delhi improves the Philippines’ connectivity with the global economy,” Bautista said.

“We are enthusiastic about our New Delhi route because, for the first time, we have the right-sized aircraft for the Indian market,” he added, noting that the airline will use Airbus A321neos. —VDS, GMA News
