Manila Water’s Laguna unit inks Pagsanjan joint venture


Manila Water Philippine Ventures Inc.’s subsidiary Laguna AAAWater Corp. (Laguna Water) has entered into a joint venture with Pagsanjan Water District in water supply development.

Under the agreement, Laguna Water will serve as contractor to Pagsanjan Water District for operations, management, and maintenance, as well as the design, improvement, upgrade, rehabilitation, and expansion of water supply and sanitation facilities, parent Manila Water Co. Inc. said in a regulatory filing submitted on Tuesday by corporate secretary Rosalinda Rivera.

The agreement covers the service area of the water district in Pagsanjan, Laguna,

Manila Water Philippine Ventures is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ayala-led Manila Water Co.

With a full potential billed volume of 9.57 million liters per day, the project will be executed by Laguna Water and Pagsanjan Water for 16 years or until Sept. 30, 2035.

Manila Water holds the concession rights to the east zone of Metro Manila and Rizal province.

These include Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig, Pateros, San Juan, Taguig, Marikina, and parts of Quezon City and Manila. The towns of Angono, Baras, Binangonan, Cainta, Cardona, Jalajala, Morong, Pililia, Rodriguez, Tanay, Taytay, Teresa, San Mateo and Antipolo in the province of Rizal are also part of the East Zone concession. —Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
