DMCI's new projects portfolio surges 12% to P27.9B in 2018
Construction and engineering giant D.M. Consunji Inc. (DMCI) has signed P12 billion worth of new projects in 2018, increasing its order book by 12 percent to P27.9 billion from P24.8 billion in 2017.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Tuesday, DMCI said building and infrastructure contracts accounted for the bulk of the order book at P11.2 billion and P11.1 billion, respectively.
Energy projects stood at P2.7 billion. Meanwhile, plant and utilities contracts amounted P2.9 billion.
DMCI said it bagged two notable projects last year, namely the first Ikea store in the Philippines and The Estate Makati — the ultra-luxury residential condominium project of SMDC and Federal Land.
Once completed, the Ikea outlet will be the biggest in the world at 65,000 square meters, the company said.
The Estate Makati is the first residential building in the country to be constructed using double-slab technology, allowing owners to fully customize the layout of their units, it said.
In 2018, DMCI recorded a full-year net income of P1.6 billion, up 22 percent from P1.28 billion year-on-year. —KBK, GMA News
