PAL suspends launch of Manila-Delhi service
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines has suspended the launch of its Manila to New Delhi flights this month due to tensions in India and Pakistan.
In an advisory, PAL said it is temporarily suspending the launch of Manila - New Delhi - Manila service "until further notice."
"We are constrained to take this step as news of India-Pakistan border tensions has prompted many travelers to cancel bookings and defer their travel plans," the carrier said.
"We seek the understanding of our passengers who have already booked flights or purchased tickets on the Delhi service," it added.
PAL said ticket holders of flights between Manila and New Delhi may avail of any of the following options:
- Reroute their tickets to any regional destination within 30 days from their original ticket
- Refund the cost of their tickets
"Affected passengers may call Reservations Hotline (+63) (2) 855 - 8888 or toll free number 1-800 - I-FLY-PAL or visit the nearest PAL Ticketing Office or partner travel agent where they booked their flight," the carrier said.
Philippine Airlines apologized to all affected passengers.
"We assure the traveling public that we will make the appropriate announcement once a new start date is finalized. Thank you for your understanding," it said. —Ted Cordero/KBK, GMA News
