Kamayan, Dad's founder Vic Vic Villavicencio passes away

Restaurateur Vic Vic Villavicencio passed away on Tuesday after a heart attack.

The news was confirmed by a family member to GMA News Online on Wednesday.

Villavicencio, who founded the Triple V Group of Companies, put up the buffet restaurants Dad's, Kamayan, and Sambo Kojin.

Senator Richard Gordon on Tuesday extended his condolences to the family and said that Villavicencio is one of his dearest friends.

"I am shattered and grief stricken by the passing of one of my dearest friends, Vic Vic Villavicencio. Vic Vic was a kind, gracious, thoughtful, and generous individual who was always there to support his friends," Gordon said.

"We shared many moments in the early days of Subic envisioning and planning for its future and saw the promise of a great community there. He was active in every one of my campaigns, where he always gave me frank and truthful advice and helped give direction especially to our communications strategy," he wrote.

"Vic Vic was a great La Sallian, a bon vivant, and most importantly, a good and decent man. Ours was the kind of friendship where we didn't need to see each other often to know that we were always looking out for each other," the senator added.

A wake will be held at Christ the King Parish Church in Greenmeadows, Quezon City on Wednesday and Thursday, from 12 noon to 12 midnight.

The funeral mass will be said on Friday at 9 a.m. at Christ the King Parish Church, to be followed by the cremation. —KG, GMA News
